In an age of mass production, it was striking to spend time with Andrew McDonald in his Sydney workshop. A shoemaker for over 30 years, Andrew uses traditional methods to create bespoke footwear by hand. These images celebrate his skill and craft, with selected images published in Open Book Magazine in 2025 as part of a feature on handmade objects.
